Foodie Fridays in Prince George Begin June 2

May 24, 2017

PRINCE GEORGE – The City of Prince George is once again inviting food trucks, sidewalk vendors, and hungry residents and visitors to Veterans Plaza in front of City Hall this year for “Foodie Fridays.”

The program, which will kick-off on June 2, allows licensed sidewalk and mobile vendors to sell their prepared food around Veterans Plaza on Fridays during the months of June, July, and August.

This outdoor food court was designed in response to an idea brought forth by local businesses as a means to help activate the downtown core, support business, and provide a beautiful space for locals to enjoy cuisine outside.

“The idea was brought to staff’s attention last year by local businesses interested in adding a new dimension to the City’s downtown to complement our already fantastic restaurants and cafés,” says Jen Tkachuk, the City’s Civic Events Coordinator.

“Foodie Fridays helps to make use of the fabulous front lawn of City Hall, and give the thousands of people who work in the downtown area a pleasant, social, outdoor place to go for a casual lunch.”

Foodie Fridays hours of operation: 11:00am to 2:00pm, Fridays from June 2 to August 25, 2017.

The City encourages any food truck operators, restaurant operators, or licensed food vendors who are interested in participating in Foodie Fridays to contact Jen Tkachuk at either 250.614.7880 or jen.tkachuk@princegeorge.ca.
