TEDxRoyalRoadsU is Coming Saturday, July 29

June 27, 2017

VICTORIA – TEDxRoyalRoadsU is coming to Royal Roads on Saturday, July 29 in the Centre for Dialogue (Learning and Innovation Centre, 4th floor) from 1-6PM.

This student-driven event’s theme is “reinvent.” Its goal is to bring together local thought leaders and re-inventors to foster learning, inspiration, and wonder – and provoke conversations that matter.

Royal Roads University has a long history of reinvention. Hatley Castle has served as a private residence, military college, mutant academy and public applied research university. With a vision of “connecting people, ideas and experiences to change lives and the world,”

Learning and leadership has taken place on the land for thousands of years. Royal Roads rests upon the ancestral homelands of the Coast Salish people; the Xwsepsum (Esquimalt) and Lkwungen (Songhees) Nations.

TEDx was created in the spirit of TED’s mission, “ideas worth spreading.” It supports independent organizers who want to create a TED-like event in their own community. At TEDx, events combine TED Talks videos, live speakers, and performers to spark deep conversation and connections at the local level. TEDx events must be multidisciplinary, focused on the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and ultimately, the world.
