VANCOUVER, BC – Smythe LLP (Smythe) is pleased to welcome Kyle Inman, CPA, CA, Tamiko Iwata, CPA, CA, Michelle So, CPA, CA and Trevor Topping, CPA, CA, CBV to the partnership effective July 1, 2019.
Kyle Inman joined the Firm in 2016 and has over 18 years of experience. He graduated from the University of Victoria and began his professional career in 2000. He obtained his CA designation in 2004 and over the years has worked with mid-sized and national accounting firms, providing business advisory, assurance and taxation services to privately-owned businesses. Kyle works with clients in a variety of industries, including insurance brokerages, lumber and building supply retailers, professional organizations and real estate investment companies. As partner, Kyle will continue to contribute to the growth and evolution of the Firm and its clients.
Tamiko Iwata has over 20 years of experience in both industry and public practice. Before joining Smythe in 2017, Tamiko spent nine years as the director of finance at another mid-sized firm. In her role, Tamiko works collaboratively with all levels of the organization to help facilitate open communication, improve operational efficiencies and drive the strategic growth of the Firm. As partner, Tamiko will continue to play an integral role in shaping Smythe’s future success.
Michelle So started her career at a national accounting firm prior to joining Smythe in 2011 and has over 12 years of public practice experience. In addition to being a member of the Firm’s Standards Group, Technology Industry Group and Training Committee, Michelle is active in campus recruiting and in student mentoring and development. As partner, Michelle will continue to provide accounting, assurance and business advisory services to clients in a wide range of industries with a particular focus in mining and exploration, oil and gas, technology, life sciences and pension plans.
Trevor Topping has been with the Firm since 2016 and specializes in providing accounting, tax, valuation and advisory services across many industries. Trevor is based out of the Firm’s Nanaimo office and provides clients with both advisory and accounting services. In addition to working with Smythe’s accounting clients, Trevor is also a Chartered Business Valuator and member of our Advisory team. As partner, Trevor’s role is to oversee the Nanaimo office and be a trusted advisor primarily to Smythe’s Vancouver Island-based clients.
